Hé, dites moi,…C’est loin là-bas
17 septembre-04 novembre 2020
Françoise Besson is pleased to offer the walls of her gallery for the first time to the Lyon-based artist Alain Pouillet for an exhibition that will be held from September 18 to November 4 in the large and small gallery.
Alain Pouillet is one of those artists who have magic in his heart and who materializes it on the surface of the canvas. He tells stories to his spectator at the borders between reality and imagination, between the visible and the invisible. The style is singular and under obvious playful appearances, the levels of meaning are also multiple and complex. Self-taught, he paints and draws since childhood. Indeed, he makes for his teacher picture cards in white gouache. This technique is dear to the artist since we find it in his last series of more than eighty small paintings – which are reminiscent of postcards – in which each drawing is enhanced with white gouache in order to better emphasize the luminous dimension of his characters.
